Devotee: How do I know whether I am chanting nāma-aparādha (chanting with offences) or nāma-ābhāsa (reflection of the pure holy name)?

Śrīla Mahārāja explains the symptoms of both, as experienced by a practicing devotee. Chanting with offenses (nāma-aparādha) increases attachment for worldly affairs, whereas at nāma-ābhāsa, one develops attachment for the holy name. But this attachment is devoid of realisation of sambandha jñāna.

Śrīla Mahārāja then speaks about the power of the holy name by explaining the story of the hunter, Ratnākara and the first verse of Śrī Śikṣāṣṭakam.
