Hare Krishna. All Glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga.
Bhakti America, a coordination group of various Sangas in North America, was established in 2009 based on Srila Gurudeva’s instructions for coordinating travel plans and preaching by travelling preachers in North America. The formation of this informal group has helped different sangas to coordinate preaching and learn from each other’s successes and challenges.
In order to take the coordination among North American sangas to the next level with the sole goal of manifesting Srila Gurudeva’s desire to grow the sangas harmoniously in alignment with Mahaprabhu’s movement, the members of Bhakti America plan to meet for a conference at Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Matha Temple in Houston from February 15 – 17, 2014. We request all the sangas in North America to please send one or more representatives to attend this conference. (several sangas have already confirmed their participation).
Over the 2 1/2 days, the following items will be discussed with an average of 1.5 hours of discussion for each topic with the last 30 minutes being dedicated for decision making and resolution. However, subcategories within each of these topics will be established during the first meeting for a positive, well-focused and comprehensive discussion with more time allotted if necessary. Each meeting will be moderated.
- Organizational Structure of Bhakti America
- Etiquette for Continuing the Parampara of International Pure Bhakti Yoga Society (IPBYS)
- Review/Revamp Current Structure for Visiting Preachers Travel Coordination
- Development of Preaching in North America
- Coordination of Major Festivals in North America
- Unification Strategies for Gurudeva’s Sanga
