Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Jayatah!
Dandavat pranams, dear Maharajas, Vaisnavas and Vaisnavis -
We are pleased to announce the publication of Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura’s Ujjvala-nilamani-kirana, with a translation / commentary by Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja.
This new publication, consisting of 120 pages, will be sold for just Rs. 50 per book and is now available in Vrindavan. Those of you coming for Kartika, during the 2013 Vraja Mandala Parikrama, will be able to to purchase copies from the book table. You may like to purchase extra copies to distribute to the devotees in your respective hometowns.
Ujjvala-nilamani-kirana is a condensed summary of Srila Rupa Gosvami’s Ujjvala-nilamani and describes in detail the elements of madhura-rasa as they exist in Vrindavan. The specialty of this edition is paragraph notes –-precise definitions of terms used in the book–- thus making it approachable for all.
The first shipment of Ujjvala-nilamani-kirana arrived just before Jhulana-yatra and was duly offered to Srila Gurudeva on the 17th, Pavitropana Ekadasi (the first day of Jhulan) and to Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, at his samadhi-mandira. The following day, on Srila Rupa Gosvami’s tirobhava-tithi, the Kirana was offered to him at his samadhi.
We hope that the Vaisnavas all over the world will be pleased to receive this book. By Srila Gurudeva’s mercy, his invaluable rendition of this Gaudiya scripture is now available to the English-speaking world.
