Update on the North American Library Program

Last year, the GVP Sponsorship program sent a few books to various libraries in America and Canada who had shown interest in receiving them. (http://gvpbookdistribution.com/2012/02/25/northern-america-library-report/)

At that time there were no copies of Bhagavad-gita or Journey of the Soul in America. After they arrived from India, we wrote again to those libraries, asking if they would be interested in taking these two books also. Many replied that they would.

We are interested in obtaining the books your group offers for our hospital’s pastoral care. I can receive them via the address that follows.

Peace be with you,

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston | Patient/Family Resource Center – Room 841125 Nashua StreetBoston, MA 02114-1198

(The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston is one of the top ten rehabilitation hospitals in America)

Another response….

We would be delighted to receive a set of the books on Yoga that your organization is donating. We will certainly add them to our collection and retain them on our shelves for a minimum of 5 years, after which we evaluate all materials for usage by our patrons. Thank you for your generous donation.

And another….

These are some great books we would love them in our (Library & LearningResourceCenter) LLRC 1605 East March Lane Stockton Ca 95210. I personally have read the Bhagavad gita when I was studying Transcendental Meditation (TM) at the Maharishi University of Management.

And, from the Seattle Metaphysical Library:

Thank you so much for the books you sent! They did, indeed, make it on to our shelves, and we show-cased them in our collection, as well.

Now Nityananda prabhu inLos Angeles has acquired another list of thousands of libraries (including all College and University libraries). Soon, we will begin writing to them, offering them the opportunity to have Srila Gurudeva’s books in their libraries.

We just also sent the following books to 31 Prison Libraries in the State of Virginia(A total of almost $2800, thanks to the generous donors!)

  • Bhagavad Gita
  • Essence of Bhagavad Gita
  • Going Beyond Vaikuntha
  • Jaiva Dharma
  • Journey to the Soul
  • Nectar of Govinda Lila
  • Raya Ramananda Samvad
  • Secret Truths of the Bhagavatam
  • Walking with a Saint 2008
  • The Way of Love

(A more complete report of the prison program will be posted soon).

Anyone who would like to give a donation towards this library program can do so by paypal (donate@gvpbookdistribution.com) or to make a bank transfer, write to Vasanti dasi at vasantidasi@gmail.com for details.
