Durlabha prabhu on the right
On 25th December 2012 our dear brother Durlabha prabhu left his body.
Such an exemplary devotee will always be indelibly etched on our memory. Although we didn’t have many opportunities to associate with him personally due to him living so far away fom us, we always remember him being happy and ready to serve Srila Gurudeva and the vaisnavas. A model of generosity, he constantly invited different sannyasis to come and preach for the benefit of the Latin American sanga. His home was a shelter for all.
We know through various friends and aquaintancies how many devotees asked him for loans or books on credit, and even though in most cases those loans were never repayed, he always continued to help whoever asked.
But our practical experience with him is directly related to the publication of Srila Gurudeva´s books in Spanish. Without his help many of our books would never have seen the light of day. We remember at least a couple of occasions on which we had a title ready to be published, but no money in our coffers, and we got in touch with him to see if he could assist. He would invariably answer: “You can count on it”. There was never a time when we asked for help and he denied it.
Recently we decided to send a large number of books to Mexico so that they could be distributed there and in other Latin American countries, but we faced the problems of where to store them and who would be responsible for them. We only needed to make a phone call to Durlabha prabhu. Without thinking about it twice, he said: “Don’t worry. I will take care of everything.”
Even though we deeply lament his departure, we are extremely happy to have had the opportunity to meet personally and to collaborate in Srila Gurudeva’s service with such a dedicated, humble and kindhearted devotee. The Spanish publication team will always be indebted to him.
Not long before entering nitya-lila, Srila Gurudeva personally called him from Govardhana to thank him for his many years of service. We have no doubt that Srila Gurudeva has a very special place in his heart for Durlabha prabhu.

the time that Durlabha prabhu left his body was certainly an auspicious constellation, the waxing of the moon; he left for his next destination, to continue to render devotional services
I remember how we first came to Mexico and how Durlabha prabhu rendered such first class seva at that time and ever after that he continued to assist Srila Gurudeva’s mission in every way, especially in book publishing and distribution

Everytime I met Sriman Durlabha Prabhu he was smiling, happy and serving and also very humble. This is a sign of someone who has imbibed Krsna within their heart. Due to the language barrier I did not have long discussions with him, but whatever short exchanges we had were always blissful. He made me happy whenever I saw him. I will miss his association and pray to Sri Guru and Gauranga to please shower Their mercy on him that he has a very auspicious next birth, being born in the family of suddha-bhaktas who are loving serving the Divine Couple.
I remember also how Prahlada Prabhu, Rohininandan Prabhu and others served with him in Spanish publications. He was dedicated to preaching in Mexico and book publication and distribution. He was a friend to all. Such service does not go in vain and surely his destination is very bright with our without our prayers. We are fortunate and better persons for having known him and had his association. Hare Krsna.

Sriman Durlabha is responsible for any of the preaching of our Gurudeva’s mission that we see in Mexico, and indeed much of South America. He invited Srila Gurudeva there to Mexico in 2002, and single handedly donated for the printing of thousands of Gurudeva’s publications. He was so humble.
He was always ready to serve. A pure person and a real saint.
