By the mercy of Srila Gurudeva a new preaching centre has been manifest in Gurdaspur; Punjab; North India. Sripad Vana Maharaja is giving his “heartily blessings” to this project and all the people involved and he will be coming here in March next year to speak Bhagavat Saptaha in the area. It is situated in a quiet (yes, quiet, in India!) and idyllic country village setting in a developing colony which is surrounded by highly pious souls from the Hindu, Sikh (the protectors of Bhakti) and Christian religions, most of whom are open to the Krishna conscious movement. It is one of India’s most wealthy and cleanest areas (you can breathe pure air and drink pure water from taps, even the electricity works at all times!) and the people of the surrounding area love Hari Kirtan, especially the children 
, so the programme is focused on Nagar sankirtan whilst carrying a palki with Gaur Nitai.
People come and take darshan, prashad, and help to carry the palki or play instruments, take books and give some donation, so the gift of sukriti is delivered by Srila Gurudeva in all respects to all class of people. Arati is also performed in the local people’s houses as they offer a lamp, some fruits, some beverage, some incense or flowers, or all of the above, to the lotus feet of the Lord with so much devotion. “If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it” BG 9.26.
The programme also includes temple, pandal and Nama Hatta programmes and we are hoping to expand to include many other projects, such as food for life, door to door and street book distribution and training for devotees amongst other projects, but for all these things to happen we require peoplepower. This means we are requesting the mercy of broad minded Gaudiya Vaishnavas from all caste and creed to come here and help this exciting new project. We especially request help in organising the Bhagavat Saptaha that will be held by Sripad Vana Maharaja in March 2012 (see tour schedule here).
