i met this huge muscly guy in downtown houston once when i was distributing with a harinama party. he said ‘have you got the bagvad geeta? (bhagavad gita). he said he read it when he was in jail and it totally changed his life for the better. he said he began to see the hand of God in all the things that happened to him, good and bad. it was really nice to speak with him. it made me realize that spending time in prison can be a turning point in a person’s life, a chance to distance themselves from bad habits and bad company, turn over a new leaf and start in a spiritual direction. good seva you’re doing!

Dear Gopika, this is such wonderful “seva”, that you and Lalita diti are doing in your “preaching in prisons. It has unlimited potential and it is perfectly attuned to Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya’s mission, of embracing everyone to chant. This is one of the most effective efforts of preaching, that is happening in our movement. This is how to start a “grassroots revolution”. And with Maha Budhi’s support, it is guaranteed to be a huge success. The love and dedication that you put into such preaching efforts, shows the fruits of your sadhana! Surely, Gurudeva has empowered you, knowing you to be a worthy recipient of His mercy. All glories to your service.

    Dear Gopika didi:

Congratulations on your efforts for the prision program. I have been moved by the love and affection that you show to people that you do not even know personally. I cannot even begin to imagine how your actual friends most be blessed by your loving dealings. Keep it going. Dharmada dasi
